This part of the segment I will bring to you some freshness that you might not know about. Big whoop, you rock foams, so does everyone else fooo! (plus I love Penny but them joints are ugly) Its time to go into some personal selections =)

I will be going off the beaten track a bit to show you some of the dopest sneaks that you might not have seen before. Plus my taste are nobody else’s but mine. So if you know me, im known to rock anything I think appeals to me, whether they are mens or womens, aliens or insects, fashion is self exploration and the expression of your taste. Do what feels right and you will never have a regret in your life….

With the use of this Lacoste Missouri, Mita teamed up with the iconic alligator brand to bring you a mid top in one of the illest colors combos around. The purple kush stylings of this sneaker goes beyond color. I love print and texture and one reason I love this sneaker is the minor usage of the alligator texture on the heel. Its a tough game to play when using ideas like this because it always seems like a great idea but you have to use it in moderation and you always have to remember “less is more.”

With the dark grey and having the print placed on the heel, I can say it was just about the right amount, something like the cement 3’s. Just a touch is all you need.

The color combination is money in the bank. I’ve never owned a pair of lacoste sneakers before. Maybe cause I didn’t play tennis or nothing like that but I did purchase a pair one time and returned it because I (as of now) don’t wear white shoes anymore. I bought it basically because I love the old school strap. After the explosion of Creative Recs, this trend is hot at the moment but with the old school thinner style strap, its classic.

You always want classic.

Yes the “trend is your friend” but we ain’t on wall street here folks, we do we and we make us happy. Buck a trend.

Lucaya, Bahamas

A few years ago Ronnie Fieg did a shoe for Asics called “The Cove.” There were only about 200 pairs that dropped and the design and color combination came from his trip to the islands. He wanted to bring out into the shoe, the color of the clear blue ocean water he was fascinated over.

A few months prior from that release, I had come back from Jamaica and I totally understood that fascination with the icy blue water and white sand beaches of the Carribean. So I had to cop these. To me they were perfect and reminded me of the feeling of being free, sun shining and enjoying the beautiful warm weather, clear blue water while being on vacation.

Plus the thought of a kid growing up in the hood to be able to see such beauty was just beyond belief….

While everyone got their pair and kept it on ice….so did I. I told myself I wouldn’t wear them or pull em out the box until my next chance to be on vacation to see that icy blue water again. When the time came, about a year later, I packed my “Coves” up and I was off…

This time, the private beaches of the Bahamas.

All the feeling came back and the experience was totally heighten when I knew that I had something to remind me of the place I loved so much and actually being there while wearing them was even better! One of the dopest trips I have ever had…

Even was lucky enough to find a restaurant with the same name =)

So after all this time I finally got a chance to do this write up, thanks for reading and following. I also did a small shoot for the shoe. I love these things. Shoes are yes, just shoes to some people. But to others, they are art, a piece of something that reminds them of a certain time period of their lives. Something that sometimes means so much that you can never take that away from them.

Big ups to @ronniefieg for the idea for the design. Looking at this shoe brings many ideas and thoughts to me, as well as starting this blog. I remember before releasing the shoe he also did a shoot with @sorayayd and that just did it for me. I had to get down there, I had to get the shoe, and I had to have both of them together. The idea was just picture perfect, I mean literally, Picture Perfect.

Do what you want to do man, everything else is just irrelevant. Make yourself happy.

DL 4th annual Black & White social affair

If you haven’t heard yet, then your probably living under a rock. Each year DL throws a beautiful gathering for their guest to dress up and hit the town in Minneapolis’s best venues. Each year, they never fail, it gets better and better…

Whether these shoes are mad hype or mad dope, either way to me…they are a must cop, if you can get your hands on them. The design is classic, original and it will be apart of history for years to come. Check out the release in 2012. Ima get a pair. Ima rock my pair. Nuff said.

Mac Irv – Hometown

I’ve Heard of this cat for awhile, growing up on the basketball court, the name sticks around. Blessed with talent from all angles…he’s once again doing his thing with the dope single “Home Town.”

Use to be one of the best hoopers comin out the city, kid does work on and off the court. Had to show some love and support

p.s. he shouted out the Southside, you know if that wasn’t thrown in there this video wouldn’t of gone up =)
